What’s the least you can do?

At this time of year I hear a lot of people say well, it’s the least I could do. As a caring professional – it doesn’t matter whether you’re a therapist, a physio, an esthetician, a hairdresser, a massage therapist, or even a veterinarian – there’s a minimum viable interaction you can have with the people you serve.

There’s more to your work than what you say you do

Frequently while at work your clients call on you to go above and beyond the scope of what you’ve been trained to do. Veterinarians are regularly awash in a sea of grief or panic and anxiety from family members who are terrified of losing a treasured member of the family. What’s worse the family members in trouble can’t communicate. Hairdressers hear more about their clients lives then most therapists or ministers do. This is beyond the scope of your practice. How do you deal? What resources do you have in place to remain resilient?
