The AAGT, Gestalt Nova Scotia and The Good Enough Network present:

The First Atlantic Gestalt Gathering
Thursday to Sunday July 23 – 25 2020
Lake Charlotte, Nova Scotia, Canada
An opportunity to have an impact
An opportunity to create change
Be among the first
In Nova Scotia, a province with just under a million people, there are only three Gestalt Therapists that we know of. We endeavor to infect this place with the transformative power of relational Gestalt processes, and practices. We are inviting the international community of Gestalt practitioners to help us create a lasting impact here in Nova Scotia, one village at a time.
Working with under-served and under-resourced community groups on Nova Scotia’s rugged Eastern Shore, we will co-create a community. Together, in addition to connecting and sharing our personal Gestalt processes and practices, we will explore how the region has created adaptations to an inhospitable environment. From this we will create experiments and interventions that impact this under-served and under-resourced region.
A gathering with two sides
Community workshops that expose Gestalt principals and practices to local mental health workers, community organizers, counselors and therapists.
Peer to peer workshops, presentations and discussions that will further our understanding of contemporary Gestalt.
We will also offer daily hikes, and opportunities to explore our embodied relationship with the nature, all on Nova Scotia’s picturesque Eastern Shore.
How it’s going to work
For Community Workshops
Without the need of a detailed proposal, send in six to ten sentences outlining what you are curious about, and how it applies to the delivery of mental health support to rural environments. Please provide the following details: How much time and space do you require? What is the general theme of your workshop / presentation? Who is the intended / imagined audience? ie: local non-Gestalt therapists, young leaders, community mental health workers.
For Peer to Peer Workshops
Which aspect of Gestalt do you want to explore with your peers? How much time and space would you like? The process for creating this gathering will evolve based on those who offer to share.
You do not need to contribute a workshop idea in order to attend.
Stay tuned for announcements about the conference schedule.
